Escape to Victory - The Front Page

Are you a fan of…
…spiky punk rock?
…mountains of attitude?
…chant-along choruses?

If you answered yes to all those questions, then let me introduce you to Escape to Victory, a four-piece punk-hardcore outfit from Aberdeen. Formed in 2006, The Front Page is Escape to Victory’s latest EP packed full of 5 raw chunks of powerful punk rock.

The amazingly titled Lessons Learnt From Rocky IV to VI, kicks off proceedings, beginning serenely before exploding into a tour de force of hardcore, while track three, Sound the Alarm, is perhaps the best track on the EP, with a slick finger-tapped solo and chant along chorus, which is sure to have your head banging and fist pumping. The Front Page then ends with Army of Mannequins, a storming track with melodic guitars and a kick-ass breakdown in the middle.

True to the punk style, these five tracks are short and vigorous, and with a running time of around ten minutes, the EP doesn’t overstay its welcome. Sharp, heavy and unadulterated: this is music that punches you in the face, demands your wallet, and runs away laughing. You have been warned…

The Front Page is out now on GFN? Records.
