Me, You and Thomas - Eventually

Bristol indie-rock duo Me, You and Thomas follow up last year’s debut single with a new three-track offering, Eventually. Kicking off with thumping drums and a thin noodly guitar line, it’s not long before the title track’s chorus breaks free in all its fuzzy, melodic glory. By all accounts, vocalist Rhianna Berarey’s silky vocals should sound at odds with Joe Sherrin’s driving drums and her own frantic guitar work, but the power she exhibits allows her voice to soar through the track triumphantly.

The rest of the single carries on in a similar vein: Stop Here features grumbling, guttural guitars right up until the thunderous climax, while Boundary is a softer balladic affair. Throughout all of Me, You and Thomas’ music there’s a welcoming sense of instant familiarity – a throwback, perhaps, to the height of 90s alt-rock – but the two-piece manage to keep their sound fresh and exciting at all times.

All in all, then, it really boils down to this: if you’re looking for a great slice of female-fronted melodic indie-rock, Eventually might just be your new favourite single.

Eventually by Me, You and Thomas will be released as a limited run of 50 CDs on the 8th of April via Howling Owl.
