King Charles - Love Lust/Mr. Flick

Described as a “dandy”, a “romantic”, an “explorer” and an “occasional shaman”, King Charles is back with his second single after the immense popularity of his debut outing, Time of Eternity. Having played the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury, and also at the Field Day and Shoreditch 1234 festivals, King Charles is taking the music world by storm, and is fast becoming a unique and prominent figure in alternative pop.

A long and rambling introduction paves the way into Love Lust, the first track on this double A-side from King Charles and co. Clicking drums, pianos and indie vocals lead on to an explosion of rock: fuzzy electric guitars and raw power fly out of the speakers during this twisted love song at a tremendous pace, assaulting your ears and cementing their melodies within your brain.

The assault is continued through into Mr. Flick, equally as dominant but this time packed full of arpeggiated synths and rapping. A memorably-killer guitar riff and a vocal breakdown add to the eclectic and enticing sound, as King Charles flogs his own brand of insane pop-rock.

If you didn’t catch his first single, these two tracks are the perfect opportunity for you to delve into the world of King Charles and his high-octane psychedelic folk-pop-rock, and see what all the fuss is about.

Love Lust/Mr. Flick is released on 26th October via Mi7 Records.
