The Famous Class - Make or Break

There is absolutely no doubt that the members of The Famous Class grew up devouring more than their fair share of Bilnk-182, Sum 41 and countless other great American pop-punk bands. This is no bad thing, though, as they seem to have taken the things that make all those bands great and perfected a distinctly British summery pop-rock sound on their newest EP, Make or Break.

As frontman Stoo says, “Lots of bands shy away from making upbeat music, but at times like these there is more demand than ever for something more uplifting.” And uplifting, cheery music is definitely what The Famous Class have delivered.

Synthy opener And Then acts as the perfect introduction to the EP, but it’s on Emily that The Famous Class really get going, and really take a step ahead of their peers. All the ingredients of a classic pop-punk anthem are there: a catchy-as-hell chorus, a chant-along “woah-oh” and riffs to die for. Similarly, closer Losing the Game has a chorus you’ll be humming for weeks.

At only five tracks long Make or Break is a delectable bite-size chunk of pop-punk: happy, danceable rock anthems. If you’re searching for a new band to add to your summer soundtrack, look no further than The Famous Class.

Make or Break is out now on TFC records.
