Introducing... The Kut

“Who are The Kut?” you may ask. Well, allow me to tell you all about them. Formed in London, and plying their trade in underground clubs, The Kut are an all-girl rock band who combine rich vocals with rock sensibilities; mixing silky guitar solos with intense drumming. All those who dismiss girl bands, beware! These women pack a punch, not least lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Maha, one of the only females in the UK to be endorsed by Marshall Amplification. With an album, Lies My Mother Told Me, in the works, now seems to be a good time to be in The Kut.

The band recorded their demo, The Vision, themselves and soon gained recognition with a slew of online reviews. The Kut have since been in the studio, and will release their debut single, a double A-side featuring Closure and Doesn’t Matter Anyway, in mid-October. After listening to their work, I can tell that these girls are a force to be reckoned with: Doesn’t Matter Anyway is a high-octane track, rammed full of sultry attitude, whilst Closure is slower but still as powerful.

Take a sneaky peek at the storming Doesn’t Matter Anyway on the player below, over a month before its release.

The Kut’s debut single, Closure/Doesn’t Matter Anyway, is released on the 12th of October via Criminal Records and is available on limited edition green vinyl as well as online.
