I Used To Be A Sparrow, hailing from Sweden, have been turning heads with their electronic rock since their debut single, Life is Good last year, which was followed by their album, Luke. After making all the indie pop kids dance, Dick Pettersson and Andrea Caccese are back again with their new album, You Are An Empty Artist.

The 11 track album opens with Laura, a relaxed song with pretty melodic lyrics, driven by steady riffs. The track is an insight to the evocative electronic journey this album will take you on. Then we are introduced to their latest single release Warpaint on Invisible Children, which is accompanied by this awesome video.
Despite the contrasting opening tracks, the album continues at a steady pace and presents dreamy hooks throughout. Chill out to Always the Runner and dance to Blindfolded. However, one of my favourite tracks has to be Spring Knows Where You Live. It reminds me of teenage summer parties, exploring new freedoms and not having a care in the world.
This album has a more electronica and emotional feel to it compared to their previous album. It reminds me of Shiny Toy Guns, with flecks of Kids in Glass Houses mixed with a mature Death Cab For Cutie. However this is definitely an album which will reach out to many, with its heartfelt and nostalgic lyrics making it the perfect soundtrack to summer, no matter your music preferences.
