8track: Frost

Picture the scene: you've just stepped out of the Hercules Moments DeLorean and you find yourself in the 90s. MC Hammer pants and Walkmen are all the rage. Deciding to ignore the fashion of the day, you pick up a Walkman and head home to 2012...

Over the past few months, we've been getting in touch with bands, celebrities and more to ask them to create eight-song-long mixtapes for YOU. So crack out your Walkman and enjoy...

Frost are a Norwegian duo who describe their sound as "cool electronic pop with analogue warmth." They've been going since 1997 in various forms, and they both have side projects - Per is also Mental Overdrive, and Aggie is also Femme Digitale - and are involved in many other creative projects. Their floaty vocals and electro-synth beats are excellent, and here are eight of their most-loved tracks.

Seahawks - Fire In The Sky (Rune Lindbaek and Oyvind Blikstad Flying High mix)

One of the nicest pieces of soothing, laid-back music I've heard in a long time. Summery vibes that will warm you even in the darkest winter.

Factory Floor - Two Different Ways (Original mix)
Still rocking and the best tune they've delivered so far. I'm still looking forward to hear their underground success and hype followed up with new material.

Moloko - Sing It Back (Herbert mix)
Well, you want to dance, won’t you?

Boska - Moonsliders
Great track from one of the most talented young Norwegian producers on the scene. So good that it is in fact released on Love OD Communications!

Joe Smooth - Promised Land
To fill the dancefloor with L*O*V*E!

Objekt - Unglued
One of the reasons Objekt suddenly was THE name to drop if bass-driven, askew techno was your cup of tea.

Frost - Something New (Le Petit Garcon remix)
Two reasons: 1. Le Petit Garcon is one of Tromsø's best kept secrets, and 2. I'd be stupid to make a list without trying to plug one of our own releases.

Saint Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart
Because Saint Etienne are such a classic, cred-cool band, and this song is just cute.

Check out two of the band's awesome videos - Something New and The Woods. Or, go see their updates on Facebook
