The Queen Campaign

Queen are, undoubtedly, one of the rock community’s most legendary bands and have written countless memorable tunes. One keen Queen fan, James Murden, has begun a campaign to get Queen back to the top of the charts. We’ll hand over to him to explain his plan in more detail:

“I am a massive Queen fan and, as you may or may not know, 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s death. I’d love to get I Want to Break Free to Number One in the UK charts for what would have been his 65th birthday, on the 5th of September.

“Not only would this be a fantastic birthday present for one of the greatest music stars ever, but increased sales of the record will bring in more money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the AIDS charity set up after Freddie’s death.

“So, from the 29th of August to the 4th of September I’d love people to download I Want to Break Free - one of Freddie’s finest moments on record - and give a true legend the best birthday present ever!”
