Klaxons - Twin Flames

This is, perhaps, an unusual choice for Klaxons’ next single. Not quite as instantaneously catchy as previous outing Echoes but no less stunning, Twin Flames begins as it means to continue: floor toms thunder throughout whilst eerie electronic lines seamlessly intermingle with a thick bassline. Twin Flames’ meandering psychedelic melodies may mean that the song takes a couple of listens to fully appreciate it, however there will be a point where everything clicks into place, and you can fully appreciate the work that has gone into creating such a fine example of other-worldly pop.

It is clear that in the 3 year gap between Mercury prize-winning Myths of the Near Future and this year’s Surfing the Void that while the charm and inventiveness we have come to expect from Klaxons remains, the band have matured and grown as songwriters, and Twin Flames is a prime example of just that.

Twin Flames is out on the 25th of October via Polydor.
