8track: Gods of Blitz

Let us take you on a magical trip back to the 90s. MC Hammer pants were all the rage and Walkmen were the height of new technology. Keeping this in mind, over the past few months we've been getting in touch with bands around the country and asking them to create a metaphorical mixtape containing, you guessed it, eight tracks!

This time round we bring you the first of our international mixtapes, made by guitarist Jens Feudenberg of Berlin indie-rockers, Gods of Blitz. Having supported Maximo Park, Nick Oliveri and Wolfmother, the band have drummed up support around the world: from their home country Germany as far afeild as Australia!

Title: Aloha Steve and Dan-O
Artist: Radio Birdman
Why it’s here: One of the best songs of one of the best bands of the world. Great homage to TV series Hawaii Five-0.

Title: Litle Girl
Artist: Death From Above 1979
Why it’s here: The best duo this world has ever seen. Anyone who ever saw them live knows that it´s true...

Title: (We Don´t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang
Artist: Heaven 17
Why it’s here: My most favourite synthie pop band. The title says it all.

Title: Mongoloid
Artist: Devo
Why it’s here: Most catchy song of this very important band. Marvelous nonsense!

Title: Heartbroken, In Disrepair
Artist: Dan Auerbach
Why it’s here: Great song from the great sounding solo album of the Black Keys.

Title: Die Roboter
Artist: Kraftwerk
Why it’s here: The only internationally known German band with style. I love the rhythm of machines rocking!

Title: Chase The Dragon
Artist: Beasts Of Bourbon
Why it’s here: Australian high energy blues at its best. Probably more addictive than the stuff it´s about...

Title: No Pussy Blues
Artist: Grinderman
Why it’s here: The most dangerous guitar of the year! Again the title says it all...
