The Gay Blades’ debut album, Ghosts, is on the way. If you can’t wait, though, the energetic American two-piece are releasing a download-only teaser single, Hey She Say. Rammed full of punchy guitars, it’s got an air of We Are Scientists about it; but don’t fret – these are no clones!Indie guitars and a driving drum beat keep the track moving at a tremendous pace, and the catchy melody is guaranteed to linger in your memory for hours after listening. Breaking down in the middle with muted guitars and cries of “oh no”, the duo thrash out some impressive indie rock, which, if there’s any justice in the world, should be sitting high up in the charts within no time.
The Gay Blades have just popped over for three dates alongside Jack’s Mannequin, but will be back with a full tour in October. Keep checking their MySpace page for details.
