Jim Gellatly is the presenter of radio show In:Demand Uncut on various stations across Scotland, has a weekly slot on internet radio station Amazing Radio, has his own weekly podcast available on Tuesdays for free via iTunes, and writes the New Music column in the Scottish Sun. He is responsible for uncovering a lot of great bands over the years, and has been awarded with the 'John Peel Award for contribution to Music Radio'. You've probably heard of him. The Lorelei were always a favourite. I remember taking a handful of their CDs
to Glastonbury and sheepishly (how appropriate!) passing one on to John Peel.

one of my all time favourites. From 1984 I used to check the charts each week
to see if it had risen or fallen. Just love the Rotton snarl fighting it out
with Bambaataa's booming rap.

Perth. Saw them support The Wedding Present in a pub in Dundee around '87, and
Engine Failure came out on The Wedding Present's Reception label. Brilliant
slice of jaggy indie rock.

League - Streets of London
Cracking
version of the Ralph McTell number. Pretty much wore out their album We Are The
League when I was at school. I was like a starstruck fan when I first met singer
Animal a few years ago, and last year went to see them again in Bathgate.[LISTEN]
