Pareto - This Is Where I Draw The Line

Following in the footsteps of great Scottish bands like Biffy Clyro and Twin Atlantic, Pareto may just be the next big thing to emerge from the depths of Scotland. Hailing from Glasgow, this three-piece make an almighty yet melodic racket that just makes you want to party.

Debut single This Is Where I Draw The Line is a stormer: angular, choppy guitars switch from sounding clean and fresh to chunky and heavy in a matter of milliseconds as the track powers through it’s three minute running time. Swirling through a multitude of sounds and emotions, This Is Where I Draw The Line is a masterclass in song structure: the quiet and loud parts sit perfectly together, and the inclusion of an end-of-song breakdown seals the deal.

The single is backed up by the equally-immense b-side, The Fireworks Were Short Lived; again a blend of calm and frantic moments, building up to a dramatic climax.

Biffy Clyro have proved in the past couple of years that there’s a place in the mainstream charts for inventive guitar bands, and with this, their debut single, Pareto may well be stepping into the limelight.

This Is Where I Draw The Line is out now via iTunes and at Pareto gigs.
