Over the past few months, we've been getting in touch with bands, celebrities and more to ask them to create eight-song-long mixtapes for YOU. So crack out your Walkman and enjoy...
When we first encountered The Early Morning
Satellites, they were known as Honey and produced a kind of magnificent
shoegazey dream-pop. Now they're a bit older, and "far more bitter",
their new name brings with it a move to the krautrock/garage end of the
spectrum. We asked singer and guitarist Nick Donnelly to choose eight of his
favourite songs for us, a task which he assures was enjoyable "but quite
challenging".
CAN
- I Want More
One
of my favourite songs. I love bopping down the street with this playing. It
puts a spring in my step.

Atlas
Sound (Featuring Laetitia Sadier) - Quick Canal
A
great track to lose yourself in. The beat locks you in a trance while Laetitia
Sadier's vocals transcend you to another world.

The
Ronettes - Do I Love You
Question
Mark and the Mysterians - 96 Tears
The
Teardrop Explodes - Reward
There's
so much going on in this record. A great song for showing off your questionable
dance moves.

The
Pastels - Crawl Babies
Brigitte
Fontaine - Il Pleut
Scott
Walker - Boy Child
A
great surreal number by Scott Walker. Its huge orchestral sweeps give it
the feel of a film score. The perfect end to a mix tape.
